BTEC LEVEL 3 ART & DESIGN - PROJECT; BODY

This is the fourth project for the course and the topic of the project revolves around the body. I really like this project as we not only work with the outer view of the body, we also worked with the inner part of the body such as other layers in the body - cells and etc. I had the experience to improve my Photoshop skills also my printmaking skills as I've done quite a lot of media pieces in this project as well as printmaking.

Video of my sketchbook for this project;

Outcomes from this project;

Above images are the ones that i've designed based on the topic that was given. The first two images was an outcome of my hand drawn design from my Textile work in which i've scanned and transfer it to Photoshop to add different colours. Whereas the other images are some of the final pieces that I've created for Media.

Pages from the sketchbook of this project;

As you can see from the above photos below, i've presented the different designs that i've hand drawn and I also showed the tests of dye and the stencils that i've used on the pages above. The pages above truly shows the process of the printmaking that i've created.

The photo of the page above is a test page of the different kind of print making ; traditional and non traditional in which i've made to test out different techniques in process of creating my final piece for the collage that I was making.

I've also did a few artist research and above shows one of the artist that I've researched on ; Pablo Picasso. By doing the artist research, it helped me to learn more about the pieces that I'm doing and it also helped me to get inspired by learning on how they did their pieces and with what view and technique did they use to make the pieces.

These some drawings of the study of the eyes, hands, feet nose and body. The drawings above helped me to improve my drawing skills as well as help me to understand the correct proportion in drawing the human body. The drawings also served as an inspiration and resource for the final piece that I was creating.

Above photos shows more of the artists that I've researched on. I've also recreated the techniques of the artist on the sketchbook page - in which i've presented the research that i've done and images of their works next/on to a piece that compliments the work.

From the designs that I've created, I then developed it into different garments pieces that I thought would fit the print designs. I thought the designs turned out really well and I am very pleased with how the designs turned out.

Above are some more images of the pages of the Media Print that I've created.

For mixed media printmaking, I've used both traditional and non traditional printing techniques in making my final piece. Above is the photo of the piece that I've created.

Overall, I think I've done quite well. Even though the works isn't the best work that I've done, I am very pleased as it was my first time to create artworks with the techniques and mediums that I wasn't entirely comfortable with. Therefore, I am really pleased as most of the outcomes turned out really well than what I was expecting.
